The monographic exhibition dedicated to one of the most prominent landscape painter gives the unique opportunity for viewers to become acquainted with the complete works of artist from the fund of the Russian Museum. The exhibition allows to trace the development of the artist's forty-year oeuvre and to feel colourful diversity and innovation essence of his art.
For the first time the exhibition presents the whole collection of the artist's paintings from the fund of the Russian Museum. Alongside the most famous 'Evening in the Ukraine', 'Rainbow', 'Oaks' and 'Moonlit Night on the Dnieper' the exhibition introduces little-known paintings ('Clouds', 'Mist at the Sea') as well as the numerous artist's sketches.
Most part of the landscapes presented at the exhibition were created in the late 'solitary' period of Kuindzhi's oeuvre, the most important part of the artist's heritage, full of impudent quests of the new way in the landscape painting.
For the first time the exhibition introduces viewers with such little accessible but interesting part of the artist's heritage as his drawings.
