The Russian Museum shows the renewed exposition that was exhibited in Correr Museum in Venice and then had a success in the largest museums of the world. The formatting of the exhibition represents fair trades on San Marco square in Venice of the 13th 18th centuries.
More than three hundred exhibits of the exhibition tell about the fashion evolution in the Venice Republic in the 13th 18th centuries. There are cloths, suits, shoes, instruments and equipment, lace and precious stones, hats and glasses. The exhibition illustrates more than fifty crafts and allows to learn about the history of every shop flloor where highly skilled masters used to work.
There are major shop floors shoe manufacturers, tailors, silk, wool, cotton and flax manufacturers; different haberdashers: glovers, hose manufacturers, button-makers, lace-makers, dyers, tanners and leather workers.
Objects in the exposition are accompanied by historic documents and pictures and give a broad view on the history of Italian fashion.
