Reconstruction of the complex: the Mikhailovsky Gardens - Engineers' Gardens - Green Territory of the Mikhailovsky Castle
Transferred to the Russian Museum in 1998, the Mikhailovsky Gardens, Engineers' Gardens and green territory of the St Michael's (Engineers') Castle comprise a single historical and architectural ensemble that first arose back in the early eighteenth century.
The territory of the Mikhailovsky Gardens comprises 87,186 sq m (8.72 hectares), the Engineers' Gardens -16,533 sq m (1.65 hectares), green territory of the St Michael's (Engineers) Castle - 12,796 sq m (1.28 hectares).
Total area - 116,515.0 sq m (11.65 hectares)
