The exhibition presents the oeuvre of the Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Sevostyanov and includes around 70 works of art from the artist's collection and some private collections. In 1977 the artist moved to the city of Vladimir and since then has been living and working there. The works shown at the exhibition are landscapes of the city of Vladimir with its ancient cathedrals and the life around them, still lives, portraits with multiple meanings. They allow one to reveal the side of the artistic life of this region unknown to the people of Saint-Petersburg. The subjects of loneliness, suspense and memories sometimes transform into the evangelic image in Sevostyanov's works. The pictorial methods of the artists are close to the so called Art School of Vladimir that was formed after the Great Patriotic War. At the same time the world of images he has created is deeply personal, harmonious and appealing.
