The exhibition presents the works by Rasim Babayev - the artist who belongs to the group of outstanding Azerbaijanian artists. The paintings of Babayev are full of true love for his country, its history, folklore and culture.

The exhibition comprises paintings and graphical works dated back from 1970s - the late stage of the artist's career, marked by his search for the truth and original personal interpretations of the art of Chinese Calligraphy and Arabic East: China Ink drawings and graphical arabesques. In graphical works the artists chooses «painterly» techniques - soft pastels, flexible ink, charcoal that makes a strong contrast of white paper and a black line. The main technical methods in graphical works such a line, a stroke and a paint dab are emphasized in Rasim Babayev's works. The artist is inspired by the eternal subjects like a man and a woman, the good and the evil, the light and the darkness. The main heroes of his pictorial compositions are dragons and giants - the underworld inhabitants. Depicting mythological and fairytale creatures while using metaphors and grotesque Babayev embodies his thoughts on the key moral and social issues.
