On the eve of the Holiday of
Holy Resurrection of Christ that is the major event for the Orthodox Church
believers the Russian Museum presents about 80 photographs of the 1970-2010's
from its collection. Christmas and Easter, Epiphany (Twelfth-Day), Shrovetide,
divine services in temples and everyday life of monasteries, sacred processions
and religious rituals that are commemorated in presented photographs, may be
regarded as the evidence of uninterrupted religious life in the years of
official atheism and about the revival of Orthodox Church in contemporary
Russia. These works presents the look of contemporary artist on the Orthodox
live where one can find everything - unity of believers in Christian pray,
holiday and confession and generally the deep feeling of Belief. There are
