The exhibition brings together
the works that are the part of private collection of Mathias Hans, the gallery
owner from Hamburg. The works created by the artists of Hamburg at the end of the
19th - first third of the 20th century gives the Russian
viewer an opportunity to get acquainted with one of the most bright and
significant pages of German art of the epoch of appearing and blossoming of
modernism. The exposition includes art works by Franz Nelken, Artur Zibelist
and Tomas Herbst who were the leading representatives of impressionism in the
art of Hamburg on the border of the 19th and 20th
centuries, and also by the members of Hamburg Secession (Hans Klut, Karl
Opherman, Willem Grimm, Erich Hartmann, Dorotea Metsel-Johansson, Anita Ree,
Alma del Banko and others), whose works are close in stylistic manner to
expressionism that was the most significant trend in German painting, graphic
and sculpture of the 1900-1920's. galeriehans.de
