At the exhibition there are shown the paintings of the last, “red-black-white”
period of the artist’s creation. Its source is the memories of his childhood, that
he spent among the mountains together with the children of the taya-people, and
the impressions of the travel to asmat- and dani-people in New Guinea. The painter
found out the coincidence of the colors and their meanings for nationalities of
South Oceania and Taiwan. Along with the paintings at the exposition there is presented
the sculpture of A-Sun Wu, that was created under the influence of the African art;
some objects are made from the secondary material resources, that are transformed
with the help of different technologies. The painter uses the color code, that was
typical for the primitive tribes: red is life, black is power and white is peace.
The objects that are requalified in such way “get the soul” because of similarity
to the animals.
