FROM JEAN-ANTOINE WATTEAU TO CLAUDE MONET

04 June - 08 June 2008
Marble Palace

The exhibition in St Petersburg was held by Christie’s for the first time. This exhibition was the result of close collaboration of Christie’s with the Russian Museum. The exposition was prepared especially for demonstrating in the Northern Capital.

The artworks by the Old Masters, among them there is ‘A Surprise’ by Antoine Watteau (it was considered to be lost), paintings by the leading impressionism and post-impressionism artists were presented in the White Hall of the Marble Palace.

These artworks will be the part of the forthcoming Christie’s summer auction in London. The works are estimated in 40 million dollars.
