JADRAN ŠETLÍK. FACES OF TWO CAPITALS

The exhibition presents about fifty portraits of Russians, including prominent citizens of St Petersburg: Alexander Rosenbaum, Dmitry Khvorostovsky, Valentina Matviyenko, Lev Dodin, Alisa Freindlich, Mikhail Boyarsky, Kirill Lavrov and others.
Jadran Šetlík was born in 1952 in Italy into the family of a Czech journalist. Being fourteen, he made his first photo in Rome, which determined his further life. He took photos of Claudia Cardinale, Brigitte Bardot and Robert Kennedy. Being eighteen, he entered the School of Graphic Art in Prague and chose his final course of life — profession of a photographer. At present Jadran Šetlík is engaged in the genre of art portrait. In the 1990s Jadran Šetlík was at the peak of his creative powers. Numerous exhibitions have been held in Czechia and abroad. Lately the artist works much in Moscow and St Petersburg.
