ANASTASIA KHOROSHILOVA

02 March - 03 April 2006
Marble Palace

The State Russian Museum presents the one-woman show of the photographer Anastasia Khoroshilova. The exhibition includes nearly 50 coloured photographs; these are portraits and thematic shots in 4 series. Anastasia Khoroshilova studied in Germany at Duisburg-Essen University, and the first series, which attracted the wide audience - Islanders, was created in 2002-05. It is dedicated to the "islanders", the inhabitants of isolated places: students of the State Academy of Choreography in Moscow and the dwellers of the hostels in Essen. The second series, the Bezhin Meadow (2004-05) illustrates the author's tour of the rural Russia and reproduces the spirit of the Russian life. Two last series: Baltiysk - illustrations of the life of the Russian naval port and 9.5 % + - a series of portraits of women in the Russian Armed Forces, which reflect the authors view at the modern army and navy. The show was supported by Aksel-Motors Company and Ernst Hilder Gallery (Vienna, Austria).
