The Russian Museum

This is the first ever large-scale experimental project realised in the Russian Museum. It continues the research of the main tendencies in Russian fine art of the 20^th century. The exhibited painting, graphic art and sculpture, created by the twentieth-century masters, enables the viewers to form an idea on the most typical artistic phenomenon. The show presents the solution of the major plastic problems of art of the 20^th century - style and form, plane and space - reflecting peculiarities of the Zeitgeist world outlook. The exhibition is accompanied by a film, describing the history of collage and used techniques and materials. The show comprises works from the collections of the Sergei Paradzhanov Museum (Yerevan), St Petersburg and Moscow museums, as well as works from artists' and private collections.
