The State Russian Museum introduces the oeuvre of Andy Warhol. This is one of the biggest and most significant projects ever realised in Russia. The exhibition enables to trace the development of one of the most prominent artists of the 20th century.
The show comprises well-known works of the master of American pop-art paintings and drawings, as well as rare films and archival materials from the collection of the Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, USA.
The exhibition consists of three parts: Oeuvre, Portraits and Still-Lifes and covers the period from the 1950s to the 1980s. Many works are exhibited in Russia for the first time.
The exhibition was organized by the Russian Museum and Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh. Alcoa Foundation and Alcoa financially supported the show.
