Mikhail Lemkhin's oeuvre will be presented at the opening of the exhibition in the Russian Museum. There are portraits of politicians and cultural workers: artists, writers, scientists and fighters for human rights at the exhibition. There are 60 portraits of people for whom freedom is an inalienable condition of human existence. Mikhail Lemkhin has held 31 one-man shows for his 49-year photograph career. He went in for literature and periodicals. As a literary man he is known for his stories, as a journalist he published about five hundred articles in American, European and Russian newspapers and magazines. Artist's characters are people with different social status and sphere of work, but in each portrait the master is eager to impress human internal state and inner world.
