This is the first-ever exhibition of photography in St Petersburg by Stas Namin, a leading Russian rock-star and producer.
The artist has been interested in photography ever since his childhood. In the early 1980s, Namin took up professional photography, designing posters for his group and other musicians. In the early 1990s, he founded a gallery of modern art and photography and began contributing to exhibitions. Within a couple of years, Namin had won acclaim as a photographer.
Stas Namin has held one-man shows at the Manиge and Central House of Artists in Moscow in 1998 and 1999.
The Stas Namin exhibition at the Stroganov Palace displays some 150 photographs taken over the past three years.
