The publication acquaints the reader with the oeuvre of the Russian artist who took part in two round-the-world expeditions headed by Faddey Bellingshausen and Mikhail Lazarev (1819-1821) and Fyodor Litke and Mikhail Stanyukovich (1826-1829). The book contains a research article on the history of Pavel Mikhailov's journeys and the fate of his large series of graphic works. The album of illustrations includes two sections, which contain the reproductions of watercolours and drawings made during the journeys, and is supplemented with detailed catalogue information. The publication is supplemented with a chronicle of the round-the world expeditions, as well as the extracts from documentary materials related to the creative life of Pavel Mikhailov and the detailed biography.

The publication is timed to the opening of a new permanent exhibition in the Russian Museum. The book includes the album of illustrations supplemented with detailed annotations and catalogue information for each of the works presented, a research article that studies the history of the portrait gallery project and acquaints the reader with various forms of collecting and studying portraits in pre-revolutionary Russia, as well as with the fates of portrait collections after 1917. The issue that is prepared to the exhibition in the State Russian Museum is devoted to the Russian Art on the turning point of its development. The issue includes the scientific articles regarding the situation in the Russian culture in the context of the political and spiritual life on the boarder of the 20th and 21 centuries. The special articles are devoted to the so-called soviet experience in the new situation, to the characteristic features of the embodiment of the religious subjects in the art of the 1985–2000’s, and to the continuation of the principles of the abstract painting and to the fates of the easel painting in this time. The special section includes the articles about the sculptures of this period where the creative oeuvre of such artists as V.Sidur, V.Danilov, L.Shulgina and the others and the activity of the Village of Artists art group and the abstract trend in the sculpture are analyzed. The album section is divided into eight thematic parts. The issue is supplemented with the chronology of events of the 1985–2000 years, and with the short artist’s biographies.

The publication is dedicated to a special kind of print graphics - sheets with the images of Old Testament and evangelic religious stories and life of saints, which were very popular among peasants and lower town folks. It includes an article that studies different aspects of the artistic language and history of religious popular prints (lubok) in Russia from the time of its origin before the 1910s, the album of illustrations with detailed annotations for each of the works presented, a short glossary of printing techniques that were used for lubok making, as well as biographies of the owners of printing workshops.

The album section is divided into eight theme chapters and accompanied by the articles where Russian and foreign authors trace the artist’s creative path, analyze plastic and thematic sources of his works and their place in a system of Non-conformism of the Soviet time and in Contemporary art. The publication also comprises the author’s memoirs, detailed biography of Solomon Rossin and documental photos that lights up his life and art.

The publication is devoted to the oeuvre of Karl Brullov as a graphic artist and acquaints with well-known and recently opened graphic works by this master that were created in Italy on the border of the 1820’s-1830’s. The book comprises two scientific articles. The first article lights up the circle of problems, connected with the little-studied side of the master’s oeuvre – his drafts and studies from the Italian models; the second article presents the results of technical expertise of the drawings from the so-called Italian Album by Brullov that belongs to the closed-end Mutual Investment Fund of Art Objects “Atlanta Art”.

The album is divided into 3 sections. The first section presents the works from the Italian Album, the second one – the graphic images of models in Italian costumes, and the third one gives the reader an opportunity to compare the drawings by Karl Brullov from the collection of the Russian Museum and from the Italian Album. For the first time this publication acquaints the Russian viewer with the creative oeuvre of the modern Lithuanian artists Sharunas Sauka, his wife Nomeda Saukiene and his son Mikolas Sauka. In works by these artists the reflections on mysterious and frighten sides of a human being are embodied by the expressive means of innovatory European art. This publication comprises four articles by Lithuanian art-critic. The first article analyses the philosophic, ethical and artistic problems in works by members of the Sauka family. The other three ones precede the sections of the album that present the oeuvre of each of the authors. The publication is supplemented with the artists’ biographies.
