The Russian Museum

This booklet accompanies the exhibition of the same name in the Russian Museum. The articles by leading experts from the Hermitage and Russian Museums trace the history of the Maltese Order and how it found its way onto Russian soil. Paintings and works of graphic art from the collection of the Russian Museum are reproduced in colour alongside illustrations of the attributes and symbols of the Maltese Order, courtesy of various Russian museums.

This booklet is devoted to one of the unique areas of applied art in Russia - lace. The publication traces the history of the handicraft and lists the names of the leading masters and a bibliography of works.
